Lt. Leroy Earl Yakish

 

 

Leroy Earl Yakish was born May 3, 1923 to Earl Edurn and Edith Elizabeth Friday Yakish. He died May 8, 1945 and has a cenotaph at the Courts of the Missing, Honolulu, Memorial, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Lt. Yakish served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 45th Fighter Squadron, 15th Fighter Group, 7th Fighter Command, 20th Air Force and was MIA/FOD/KIA as the pilot of a P-51 type aircraft which participated in a fighter sweep mission of the Tateyama Airfield, Japan and was hit by anti-aircraft fire.
