Wolff Is Killed in Action in Service of His Country

Time and Place Not Disclosed; Joined Navy on 17th Birthday

Warren William Woff, seaman 2/c, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl F. Wolff, 1220 Kentucky S.E, has been killed in action in the service of his country, according to a telegram received from the navy department Friday. It was stated that for military reasons the name of his ship and the time and place of his death could not yet be disclosed.

The telegram further stated that because of existing conditions the body if recovered could not be returned at present --that if further details were received the family would be notified.

Seams 2/c Wolff entered the service on his 17th birthday, last Dec. 28. He took his boot training at Farragut, Idaho.

Warren William Wolff was born Dec. 28, 1926 to Carl F. and Eva Dennis Wolff. He died Oct. 24, 1944 (Lost at Sea) and is memorialized at Fort William McKinley, Manila, the Philippines.

Petty Officer Wolff was MIA/KIA while serving with the U.S. Navy in World War II.
