– Dean O. Wilson, yeoman second class, is a member of the crew of the coast guard cutter Spencer which recently sunk a German U-boat and captured its crew. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Wilson now of Hamburg, who until a few years ago were residents of Salix, Iowa.

Dean Oliver Wilson was born Feb. 23, 1918 to Ray E. and Eunice McBride Wilson. He died Jan. 6, 2000.

Dean served in World War II with the U.S. Coast Guard.
