Melvin L. White, S1/c, has returned to Norfolk, Va., after spending a 30-day leave here at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. White, and with other relatives and friends. Pfc. Elmer W. White also has returned to his post at Fort Bliss, Texas, after a 15-day furlough spent at his home here.

Melvin Leroy White was born Jan. 20, 1926 to John W. and Grace E. Jenkins White. He died May 14, 2001.
Petty Officer White served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.
