Lt. Forbes W. Wetter

 

 

 

Forbes W. Wetter was born Dec. 15, 1916 to John P. and Georgia Helen Smith Wetter. He died July 14, 1943 and is buried in Cedar Cemetery, Rinard, IA.

Lt. Wetter served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 566th Bomb Squadron, 389th Bomb Group and was KIA aboard “Ford’s Folly”. He was a navigator on the crew that was shot down on the Italian Side of the Straits of Messina. He was awarded the Air Medal.
