Rodney, Iowa—Carl T. Werling, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Werling, who was stationed at Camp Livingston, La., has been sent to Fort Ord, California.

Carl Thomas Werling was born Sept. 12, 1922 to Joseph Leo and Zella Petersen Werling. He died May 1, 1978 and is buried in Little Sioux Township Cemetery, Smithland, IA.

Sgt. Werling served with the U.S. Army in World War II. He also served in Korea.
