Garold Alvin Wehr was born July 9, 1921 to Albert Lee and Gladys Mae Morgan Wehr. He died Sept. 22, 1944 and is buried in Lorraine American Cemetery, St. Avold, France and has a cenotaph in Elm Grove Cemetery, Elm Grove Cemetery, Washington, IA.
Pvt. Wehr served in World War II with the U.S. Army 314th Infantry Regiment, 79th Infantry Division. He was KIA and was awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster.
