Harold Weed, Sr. was born Nov. 17, 1919 to Rev. Floyd and Lily Moss Weed. He died May 26, 1987 and is buried in the Mineral Ridge Cemetery, Ridgeport, IA.

Harold served with the Navy in World War II and as a pilot in the Korean War.

STRATFORD — Harold Weed Sr., 67, of Tulsa, Oklahoma., a former Stratford resident, died May 26.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 30 at 11 a.m. at the Stratford Calvary United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Russell officiating. Burial will be in Mineral Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the Stark-Welin Funeral Home in Stratford from 7-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the church until service time.

He was born Nov. 17, 1919 at Woburn, Mass., the son of Rev. Floyd and Lily Moss Weed.

He married Ruth Jennings on Nov. 6, 1942. Mr. Weed served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War as a pilot. He had been an assistant hospital administrator at Duluth until his retirement.

Survivors are two sons, Harold Jr. of Woodbridge, Va., Robert of Clackamas, Ore.; one daughter, Caryl Ann (Mrs. David) Halverson, Spokane, Wash.; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Klein of Tulsa and Eleanor Jerman of Pennsylvania; one brother, Wendel of Fayetteville, Ark. He is also survived by his former wife, Ruth Weed of Stratford.
