Charles E. Warneke was born Feb. 25, 1922 to Edward L. and Edna M. Buchanan Warneke. He died Jan. 8, 2005 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA.

Sgt. Warneke served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II with the Third Photo Reconnaissance Squadron.

Charles E. Warneke, 82, Missouri

Charles Edward Warneke, 82, of Lake Ozark, MO passed away Jan. 8, 2005 at his daughter’s home in St. Louis, MO. Charles was born February 25, 1922 in Oelwein, Iowa, the son of Edward L. Warneke and Edna Buchanan. Mr. Warneke served in the United States Air Force in the 3rd Photo Reconnaissance Squadron where he served from 12/30/41 through 11/28/45. He and his wife, Fran, owned several businesses at Lake Ozark including the Beachcomber Resort.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Frances. He is survived by his daughter, Sandy Mulcahy of St. Louis, Mo, his son, Rick Warneke of Maine, and three grandchildren, Melissa, Andrea and Katlyn Mulcahy and many relatives and friends.

He was cremated with internment at a later date in Webster City, Iowa.
