T/Sgt. Earl L. Waddell


Fort Lewis, Washington – Men wounded in the battles of the Belgium bulge, the drives against the Siegfried line and all along the German border have arrived in Madigan general hospital here, Col. W.G. Jenkins, commanding officer has announced.

Listed according to home states the new arrivals include;

Iowa – Pvt. Howard L. Burns, Coon Rapids, S. Sgt. Lloyd Russell Hennick, Estherville; Pvt. Glen Montange, 1701 Isabella Street, Sioux City; Pfc. Dale E. Smith, Cedar Rapids; T. Sgt. Earl L. Waddell, Charles City.

Earl Leighton Waddell was born Apr. 8, 1920 to Jesse Harrison and Carolyn Fredereke Elfers Waddell. He died Jan. 11, 1975 an is buried in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City, IA.

Earl served in World War II with the U.S. Army and was WIA.
