THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, December 11, 2007.

Kermit O. Voga, 93, of Story City, died Friday, Dec. 7, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City. Burial will be in Homewood Cemetery in Ellsworth.

Kermit O. Voga was born March 5, 1914, near Ellsworth in Hamilton County, to Ole and Albie (Tyler) Voga. He grew up in the Ellsworth community and graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1932. Following his discharge from the U.S.Army Air Corps in 1946, he moved to the Story City area. He married Martha Larwick April 5, 1952, in Des Moines. He farmed his entire life and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City.

He is survived by his wife, Martha, of Story City; three sons, Stuart (Jolene) Voga, of Jewell, Paul (Paula) Voga, of Story City, and Roger (Lois) Voga, of Monument, Colo.; one brother, Eugene Voga, of Story City; one sister, Shirley (Clifton) Larson, of Ellsworth; five grandchildren, Morgan, Logan, Colton, Cody and Chase; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and three brothers. Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City is in charge of arrangements.
