Mrs. R. R. Towns, 113 W. Second Street has received word from her husband that he has been promoted to corporal at Camp Rucker, Alabama, where he has been stationed since his induction, June 3 Corporal Towns was a cattle buyer here before his departure.

Men In Service.

Ralph Richard Towns, son of R. L. Towns, 308 Court Street, recently was commissioned a second lieutenant in the army upon graduation from officer’s candidate school at Fort Benning, Georgia.

Lieut. and Mrs. R. R. Towns are spending the last week of Lieut. Towns two-week leave in Sioux City. They are at the family home, 113 W. Second Street. Lieut. Towns, a former employee of The Journal, is stationed at Camp Rucker, Alabama.
