Thomas Marion Throntveit was born Jan. 30, 1925 to George and Martha Folken Throntveit. He died July 31, 1987 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA.

Thomas served with the U.S. Army in World War II. He was wounded in France and received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and infantry medals.

Funeral services for Thomas M. Throntveit, 62, will be held Tuesday, Aug. 4 at 10:30 a.m. at Mittlestadt Funeral Home in Lake Mills. Graveside committal services will be at 3 p.m. in Graceland Cemetery in Webster City.

Mr. Throntveit died July 31 at his home.

Thomas Marion Throntveit was born Jan. 30, 1925 to George and Martha Folken Throntveit at Lake Mills. He move with his family to Scarville as a small child. He graduated from high school there in 1943. Mr. Throntveit served with the army and was wounded in France. He received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and infantry medals. **Scarville, Iowa, is in Winnebago county.

He married Helen Halverson on April 1, 1950. The couple moved to Webster City in 1952 where he was employed by Firestone, Morton Frozen Foods, and Nissen Packing Co.

He had been in ill health since 1979.

Survivors are his wife; 3 sons and 2 daughters, Larry, Michael, and Jodi (Mrs. Duane) King, all of Wester City, Gary of Worland, Wyo., Martha (Mrs. Vernon) Brown of Seymour; seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and four brothers.

He was a member of the American Legion and D.A.V.
