Raymond Miller Thorpe was born Aug. 2, 1917 to Uriah Blake and Lenore H. Tallman Thorpe. He died Jan. 3, 1974 and is buried in the Murdoch-Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, IA.
Sgt. Thorpe served with the Army Air Corps in World War II. He was an aircraft instrument specialist with a B-24 Liberator bomber squadron in the eighth air force in England.
