Mapleton Men With the Armed Forces
Lester Theobald, son of Mr. & Mrs. John Theobald, has been appointed overseer of a group of men who are testing planes in the Naval Yards at Philadelphia.

Lester Anton Theobald was born Feb. 8, 1917 to John and Mary Hupke Theobald. He died Sept. 16, 1998 and is buried in Danbury Catholic Cemetery, Mapleton, IA.
Petty Officer Theobald served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.
