Lt. Clifford Omer Taylor

 

 

Clifford Omer Taylor was born Sept. 16, 1919 to Arthur Emery and Ethel F. Taylor. He died Sept. 10, 1943 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines and in Masonic Cemetery, Des Moines, IA. He has a cenotaph in the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Van Meter, IA.

Lt. Taylor served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 8th Photographic Squadron, 6th Reconnaissance Group and was MIA/FOD/KIA as the pilot of a special P-38 Lightning Reconnaissance plane that failed to complete a cross country mission to Port Moresby, New Guinea.
