—Private C. Victor Taylor returned to Sherman, Texas after spending a furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.G. Taylor of Kingsley. He has three brothers in the armed forces, Private Lloyd Taylor, at the air base at St. Petersburg, Florida; Corporal Edward Taylor, Bainbridge, Georgia and Private Charles E. Taylor, the first draftee from Kingsley on March 11, 1941, who is now in New Guinea.

Charles Everett Taylor was born Oct. 6, 1918 to Clarence Grant and Elizabeth Ann Lancaster Taylor. He died May 8, 1995 and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. 

Charles served with the U.S. Army Headquarters Co. 41st Division, under command of Gen. Douglas MacArthur; spent over three years in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre of Operations, earning 2 Bronze Stars for the New Guinea-Philippine Campaigns, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbons, American Defense Service Ribbon, Six Overseas Bars and Philippine Liberation Ribbon with One Bronze Star.
