Sgt. Arthur Robert Sams

 

 

Arthur Robert Sams was born Nov. 13, 1920 to Ellis A. and Anna B. Kellar Sams. He died May 18, 1944 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Sicily-Rome American Cemetery, Nettuno, Italy.

Sgt. Sams served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 775th Bomber Squadron, 463rd Bomber Group, Heavy and was MIA/FOD/KIA in Rumania as a crew member of a B-17 (Fortress) aircraft on a bombing mission to Ploesti, Rumania. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Air Medal.
