Robert William Symonds was born Nov. 21, 1921 to Henry J. and Kate Meyrick Symonds. He died Sept. 18, 1942 and is buried in Phelps Cemetery, Decorah, IA.
Sgt. Symonds served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps and died of injuries received in a plane crash at Drew Field, Tampa, FL.
