IOWA HONOR ROLL

These Iowans, like the many carried here in previous Honor Roll listings, have given their lives for their country. Each one was either killed in actual combat or died in prison camp. The fourth line beneath each photograph indicates the war area in which the Iowan was serving. Additional pictures will be carried on future Sundays.

Harry Arthur Summers was born Mar. 15, 1916 to Earl Edward and Pearl Edna VanKirk Summers. He died Nov. 8, 1942 and is buried in Memorial Cemetery, Ringsted, IA. He is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, North Africa American Cemetery, Tunis, Tunisia.

Pvt. Summers served in World War II with the U.S. Army 6th Infantry, 1st Armored Division and was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
