Sgt. Darwin L. Stiffler

 

Darwin L. Bishop AKA Darwin L. Stiffler was born Dec. 30, 1917 to Vera Leone Bishop and adopted the name of Darwin L. Stiffler at the time of Vera’s marriage to Frank H. Stiffler. He died Mar. 29, 1943 and is buried in North Africa American Cemetery, Tunis, Tunisia.

Sgt. Stiffler served in World War II with the U.S. Army 168th Infantry Regiment, 34th Infantry Division and was KIA in the North African area and awarded the Purple Heart.
