T/Sgt. John P. Stankiewicz


IN UNIFORM

T. Sgt. John P. Stankiewicz, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Stankiewicz, 410 S. Lafayette Street, received his discharge from the air corps September 21 on the point system, having a total of 160 points. Sgt. Stankiewicz suffered second degree burns on his left arm, face and head when the B-26 in which he was flying was hit by German fire and exploded. A brother, Lt. Joseph F. Stankiewicz, has been in the navy for nearly 12 years and took part in every major battle since Pearl Harbor except the Philippines. He now is somewhere near Tokyo. His wife resides in Long Beach, California.
