Sgt. James Carlson Stammer

 

 

James Carlson Stammer was born Oct. 22, 1921 to William James and Rena M. Carlson Stammer. He died June 13, 1945 and is buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Casey, IA.

Sgt. Stammer served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps and died when the B-24-H Liberator bomber #42-95095 he was on crashed at the Fairy Lochs near Gairloch Wester Ross, Scotland killing 9 crew members and 6 passengers. The plane became lost while returning to the USA.
