Rex Allen Shirk was born in Feb. 21, 1919 to Asa Jackson and BIrdine Lucille Shirk. He died Oct. 3, 1942 and is buried in Alice Union Cemetery, Grundy County, IA.
Lt. Shirk served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps and died as the result of an airplane accident near Rice Air Base, Rice, CA.
