Lt. Donald Harvey Shearer

 

 

Donald Harvey Shearer was born Nov. 12, 1918 to Clyde and Ethel Mae Hunt Shearer. He died Mar. 25, 1943 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, North Africa American Cemetery, Tunis, Tunisia.

Lt. Shearer served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 95th Fighter Squadron, 82nd Fighter Group and was MIA/FOD/KIA as the pilot of a fighter plane which was lost off the coast of northern Tunisia. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster.
