Lt. George D. Seavey

 

 

George D. Seavey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert M. Seavey, 1414 West Street, has completed nine-week training in flying and has been graduated from the Marana basic flying school at Tucson, Ariz. He attended Cathedral High School and later junior college at Ventura, Cal.

First Lt. George D. Seavey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert M. Seavey of McCook Lake and Jefferson, S.D., recently was graduated from the American air force training command twin-engine central instructor’s school at Brooks field, Tex.

Lt. Seavey is a veteran of 11 months service in the European theater of operations.  He flew 38 combat missions as a B-25 pilot, and has been awarded the distinguished flying cross, purple heart, air medal, presidential unit citation and the European theater ribbon.  The class of student pilot instructors of which he was a member was made up almost entirely of combat returnees.
