IN UNIFORM

Capt. George W. Schott, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Scott, Jr. 1718 Morningside Avenue is a battalion surgeon of the 143d field artillery battalion. His battalion recently received from Lt. Col. Wallace H. Nickell official commendation as a “well trained, efficient fighting team” as a result of its activities in the Pacific area. The statement says in part: “Your fire has knocked out at least 30 enemy artillery pieces, numerous machine guns, strongpoints, O.P.s, supply dumps and other installations, to say nothing of enemy personnel. However, your most important work has been in aiding infantry in taking objective after objective. I am proud of you.”
