Earl Eugene Schmidt was born Apr. 5, 1915 to Honas and Mary Jackson Schmidt. He died Aug. 9, 1944 and was buried in Oakland Cemetery, Clinton, IA.
Lt. Schmidt served in World War II with the U.S. Army 56th Field Artillery Battalion and was KIA during a reconnaissance flight.
