Russell Conrad Scharnberg was born Jan. 2, 1921 to Conrad C. and Viola Matthiesen Scharnberg. He is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Henri-Chapelle, Belgium.
Lt. Scharnberg served in World War II and was a pilot with the U.S. Army Air Corps 359th Fighter Squadron, 356th Fighter Group and was MIA/KIA near Berlin, Germany.
