Sgt. Charles Marlin Plecker

 

 

 

 

 

Charles Marlin Plecker was born Mar. 9, 1919 to Charles Gilbert and Emma J. Statler Plecker. He died Apr. 1, 2012 and is buried in Ainsworth Cemetery, Ainsworth, IA.

Sgt. Plecker served in World War II with the U.S. Army, participating in the invasion of Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Central Europe and the Ardennes campaigns. He guarded General Hodges and staff of the 1st Army Headquarters. He earned the European theater ribbon, five bronze stars, American theater ribbon, American Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct ribbon and four overseas bars.
