Our Men in Service

Two Sioux City men, Herman H. Petersen, 1312 Wall Street and William V. De Maranville, 106 Stellart Apartments, enlisted in the coast guard Monday at the Omaha recruiting office. They are being assigned to a training station at once. Petersen was a bartender before his enlistment. De Maranville, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl De Maranville, 2027 Cleveland Street, left a position as a cattle buyer.

IN UNIFORM

Herman H. Petersen, a cox-swain with the coast guard, whose home is at 900 16th Street, and Gus Nemitz, 1223 S. Alice Street, a motor machinist’s mate with the coast guard, recently were discharged under the navy point system at the coast guard separation center in St. Louis.
