Ronald R. Peters was born Nov. 11, 1925 to Otto H. and Anna S. Jacobsen Peters. He died Jan. 27, 2003 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA.

Ronald served with the U.S. Army Infantry in World War II.

Ronald R. Peters, 77, of Webster City died of a stroke Monday at Hamilton County Hospital there. Services will be at 1 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Webster City, of which he was a member. Burial, with military rites, will be at Graceland Cemetery there.

Mr. Peters was born in Avoca and had lived there until moving to Webster City in 1954. He had worked for Avoca Dairy, Paul Electric in Fort Dodge, and Morton Frozen Foods Co. and Frigidaire Electrolux, both in Webster City, before retiring. He was an Army veteran of World War II and had been a board trustee and head usher with his church. He enjoyed collecting scale model cars and attending family sporting events.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; two sons, Davis of Mason City and Ronald of Des Moines; a daughter Jeannie Vande Zande of Webster City; five brothers, Allen of Sandy, Utah, Jack of Council Bluffs and Vernus, Lyle and Clyde, all of Avoca; and four grandchildren.

Foster Funeral Home in Webster City is handling arrangements.
