IN UNIFORM

William F. Palmer, aviation radio man second class, son of H.P. Palmer, 201 W. Second Street has reported to the naval air technical training center, Memphis, Tenn., for advanced radio instruction. He served as a combat air crewman with a torpedo squadron operating off the aircraft carriers U.S.S. Cowpens and U.S.S. Independence. His unit completed 23 successful combat missions over Tokyo, Iwo Jima and Okinawa. He holds the air medal with two gold stars and the Distinguished Flying Cross.
