James Palidas, Jr. was born Jan. 17, 1922 to James (Sr.) and Ella May Davis Palidas. He died Dec. 7, 1941 and is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein, IA. He is memorialized at the Courts of the Missing, Court 1, Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Petty Officer Palidas served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Oklahoma (BB-37) and was MIA/FOD/KIA in the attack on Pearl Harbor. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
