Pfc. Fred Oestereich, son of Mrs. Dirkie Oestereich, 2830 W. 24th street, is a truck driver in the 310th combat engineer battalion in Italy which recently built a cable tramway to reestablish contact with an inundated medical unit near the Po valley.
