Hugh Willis Oakley was born Nov. 25, 1917 to Floyd E. and Delila O. Shepherd Oakley. He died Apr. 29, 1943 and is buried in Fontana Cemetery, Hazleton, IA.

Cpl. Oakley served in World War II in the U.S. Army with an anti-tank unit in North Africa where he was KIA.
