Sgt. Kenneth D. Nowling, son of Mrs D.N. Nowling, 28 Cooper avenue has been graduated from the aerial gunners school at Harlingen, Tex., and has received his wings.

Wife Receives Cheering News

Mrs. Kenneth D. Nowling, 28 Cooper avenue, has been informed by an American Red Cross message that her husband, S.Sgt. Kenneth D. Nowling, has been liberated from a German prisoner of war camp.

Wearer of the air medal with nine oak leaf clusters have been attached, the distinguished flying cross and the presidential unit citation, S. Sgt. Nowling was reported missing Oct. 17, 1944 and a prisoner of war Nov. 22, 1944.

A nose gunner on a B-24 Liberator bomber, he had gone on a bombing mission over Austria, his forty-eighth mission when report missing.

He is the son of Mrs. Mae Nowling, 38 Scott street.
