Edward John Neuman was born June 22, 1922 to Gustav and Ida Kindy Neuman. He died Dec. 2, 1944 and is buried in Lorraine American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-Avold, Lorraine, France. He is memorialized in Fairbank Cemetery, Fairbank, IA.

Pvt. Neuman served in World War II with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the 5th Ranger Infantry Battalion of the Third Army under General Patton. He was wounded twice in action and received the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster. He was KIA in France.
