Carl Edwon Merritt was born Jan. 19, 1918 to Edward J. and Minnie Gill Cecil Merritt. He died Feb. 10, 1961 and is buried in Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, OR.
Sgt. Merritt served in World War II with the U.S. Army.
