Lt. Dolson Gray Meeker

 

 

Dolson Gray Meeker was born Feb. 25, 1921 to Milton C. and Elva Gray Randolph Meeker. He died July 22, 1944 and is buried in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO. His remains were recovered and returned to the U.S. in 1956. His name remains permanently inscribed on the Tablets of the Missing at Florence American Cemetery, Impruneta, Italy.

Lt.. Meeker served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 740th Bomber Squadron, 455th Bomber Group, Heavy and and MIA/FOD/KIA as a crew member of a B-24 (Liberator) aircraft which was lost on a bombing mission to Ploesti, Romania.
