John Anthony Mandia was born Jan. 18, 1922 to James V. and Edna Laura Vincent Mandia. He died Sept. 29, 1944 and is buried in Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines, IA.
Sgt. Mandia served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 233rd Base Unit and died near the Army Air Base, Alamogordo, New Mexico while in the service of his country.
