Sgt. Woodrow T. Mosbarger

 

 

 

Woodrow T. Mosbarger was born Feb. 8, 1914 to Lemuel E. and Luella Mosbarger. He died May 15, 1943 and is buried in Ardennes American Cemetery and Memorial and memorialized in Oak Grove Cemetery, Granville, IL.

Sgt. Mosbarger served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 367th Squadron 306th Bomb Group. as a ball turret gunner on a B-17F #42-29677. He was KIA when his B-17 was shot down by German fighters and crashed into the North Sea near Heilgoland Island, Germany. He was awarded the Air Medal and Purple Heart.
