Memorial Rites for Sergeant Bluff Soldier on Sunday
Memorial services for Pfc. Recil Leon Montgomery, who died June 17, 1942, in a Japanese prison camp, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Sergeant Bluff Methodist Church. Rev. J. Norris will officiate.
The soldier, a son of Mr. and Mrs., Roy E. Montgomery, was a member of the Marine Corps.

Recil Leon Montgomery was born Nov. 10, 1920. He died June 17, 1942 and is buried in Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
Pvt. Montgomery served with the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II.
