9 Physicians, 7 Dentists Join Army

After taking the oath of allegiance and receiving their commissions in the army Tuesday, medical doctors and dentists from the Sioux City area, were fingerprinted by Sergeant Harry N. Clapp, clerk of the medical office recruiting board staff from Cedar Rapids. Among the new officers were left to right; First Lieut. V.G. Goebel of Hawarden; First Lieut. Frank Epstein of Sioux City and First Lieut. Irving I. Mittleman of Sioux City, all now of the dental corps.

Men In Service

Lieut. Erving Mittleman, former dentist here who is with the dental corps, has been transferred from Buckley field, Colorado, to officer’s training school at Miami Beach, Florida, where he is to remain six weeks. Mrs. Mittleman returned to Sioux City Friday from Colorado to visit until January in the home of her mother, Mrs. Libbie Baschefkin, 2110 Jones Street.
