Lt. William L. Meacham

 

 

 

MEN and WOMEN in SERVICE.

William L. (Bill) Meacham of the marines, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter C. Meacham, 4011 Floyd Avenue, has arrived to spend the holidays in the home of his parents. On his return to Ohio, he expects to attend officer’s training school. He is a former Leeds High School and Morningside College athlete.

IN UNIFORM

Pvt. William L. Meacham, U. S. M. C. R., son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter C. Meacham, 4011 Floyd Avenue, has completed his training in the V-12 unit at Denison University, Granville, O., and is being transferred to Parris Island, S.C. for further officer training. At Denison University he has been prominent in dramatics and athletics having amassed the most points for touchdowns in the current football season. He has become a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity since entering the V-12 unit. He formerly attended Leeds high school and Morningside College.

IN UNIFORM

Lt. William L. Meacham, U.S.M.C.R., has completed requirements for a bachelor of arts degree at Denison University, Granville, O., where he was stationed for 16 months in the marine detachment of the navy V-12 unit. A graduate of Leeds High School in 1942, he attended the University of Nebraska and Morningside College for two and one-half semesters before entering Denison University, where he played on the football team in 1944, scoring six touchdowns and one point after touchdown to tie for first place in individual scoring. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter C. Meacham, 4011 Floyd Avenue.
