Ensign Paul H. McManus

 

Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Murphy of 633 East Lombard street, Davenport, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Margaret H. Murphy, Petty officer, second class, in the WAVES, to Ensign Paul H. McManus, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. McManus of DeWitt. No date has been set for the wedding but it will take place in the near future at St Paul the Apostle church.

The bride-elect is a graduate of the Immaculate Conception academy and was employed at the Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. prior to her enlistment in July of 1943. She is engaged in naval communications work.

Ensign MacManus attended St. Joseph's school at DeWitt, enlisted in the navy in September of 1940 and received his commission in September of 1944. He has participated in several major engagements in the South Pacific. At present both are stationed at the United Sates naval receiving station at Washington, D.C.
