Cpl. Robert Lewis McLaughlin

 

 

 

Robert Lewis McLaughlin was born Apr. 6, 1922 to Loren and Evelyn Mae Mosier McLaughlin. He died Sept. 7, 1944 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines and has a cenotaph in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.

Sgt. McLaughlin served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 14th Bomber Squadron, 7th Bomber Group, Heavy and was MIA and became a Japanese POW and died in the sinking of the Shinyo Maru. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
