Lloyd Harmon McGonigle was born Sept. 7, 1906 to Isaac and Luella Mae Hartman McGonigle. He died in Dec 1963 and is buried in Homewood Cemetery, Ellsworth, IA.

Pvt. McGonigle served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II.

Lloyd McGonigle Dies in Des Moines; Rites Held Today

JEWELL — Lloyd McGonigle, 57, of Des Moines, a former Jewell resident, died Tuesday at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines following a heart attack.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Becker funeral home with the Rev. John Binkley of Des Moines officiating and with burial in Homewood cemetery at Ellsworth.

Lloyd McGonigle, son of Isaac and Luella McGonigle, was born Sept. 7, 1906 at Jewell, and he was reared and educated in this community.

He was married to Elda Voga at Ellsworth in 1926, and for many years had been an employee of the U.S. department of labor.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Robert Puffer of Milwaukee and Mrs. James Odum of Philadelphia; six grandchildren; two brothers, Ray McGonigle of Austin, Minn. and William McGonigle of Jewell; six sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Jensen of Eagle Grove, Mrs. Ella Geppson of Fargo, N.D., Mrs. Iva Clabaugh, Eagle Grove, Mrs. Leveda Estland, Atlantic, Iowa, and Mrs. Leona Johnson, Cedar Falls and Mrs. Veletta Jones of Winner, S.D.

Mr. McGonigle was a veteran of World War II.
