Warren O. Maxon, Second Lt., U.S. Army Air Force - MIA

Warren O. Maxon was born in July 10, 1924 to Glenn H. and Frances L. Warren Maxon. He died Feb. 12, 1945, and is memorialized at the East Coast Memorial, New York, NY, USA. He has a cenotaph at Evergreen Cemetery, Jewell, IA.

Lt. Maxon was a pilot of a P-39 aircraft with the 32nd Fighter Squadron, 6th Air Force. He was listed as missing in action Dec. 13, 1944. He had been transferred to the Central America (Panama) area and was flying in “Operation Jungle Jewell” when his plane crashed. The body of Maxon was not found.
