Hartley Byron Maland




Henry Severn and Lettie Kleveland Maland had three sons serving their country in World War II:

Hartley Byron Maland was born Sept. 1, 1915. He died Oct. 16, 1992 and is buried in Prairie View Cemetery, Wimbledon, ND.

Chief Pharmacist’s Mate Maland served with the U.S. Navy.

Loren Stanley Maland was born Sept. 3, 1917. He died Dec. 1983 in Houston, TX.

Loren served with the U.S. Navy in World War II aboard the USS Carter (DE-112).

John Edwin Maland was born May 14, 1921. He died Feb. 22, 2012 and is buried in Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA.

Electrician’s Mate First Class Maland served with the U.S. Navy in World War II with the 3rd Fleet Amphibious Squadron in the Battle of Pelelieu Islands in the Pacific.
